The Alte Pinakothek (in English, "Old Picture Gallery") is one of the museums housing the Bavarian State Picture Collection (or Bayerisches Staatsgemaldesamlmlungen in German). It is one of the oldest museums in the world, established in in 1836, which houses one of the foremost collections of Old Master paintings.
