The Alte Pinakothek (in English, "old Pinakothek") is one of the museums housing the Bavarian State Picture Collection (or Bayerisches Staatsgemaldesamlmlungen in German). It is one of the oldest museums in the world, established in in 1836, and has one of the most famous collections of Old Master paintings in the world.
