The Doge's Palace is famous for his decorations in situ by the greatest Venetian painters. They were made on canvas, then inserted into gilded frames on the walls and ceilings to prevent the natural humidity of Venice from damaging the paintings.

  • Sala dell’Anticollegio (Antechamber of the College): One work by Veronese.
  • Sala dei Tre Capi (Room of the Three Heads): Three works by Veronese, one by Zelotti (central ceiling composition), one by Ponchino.
  • Sala del Maggior Consiglio (Room of the Great Council): 5 works by Veronese.
  • Sale del Consiglio dei Dieci (Room of the Council of the Ten): 4 works by Veronese (one taken to Paris)
  • Sala della Bussola (Compass Room): One work by Veronese (taken to Paris).
